No. Company Operator is the operating layer around the agents you already use. It gives them shared conventions for ownership, memory, handoffs, and integration.
Do I need to run several agents?+
No. Start with one. The same structure keeps a single agent's work legible today and lets you add parallel lanes when the product needs them.
Will it change my application architecture?+
The kit is designed to sit beside your product. Setup inspects the existing repository and adds coordination files and workflows without replacing your application structure.
Which tools does it support?+
Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, and other command-line coding agents can work within the same operating model. You can mix tools by lane.
Is it really free?+
Yes. Company Operator is open source under the MIT license. Your model or tool providers may still charge for their own usage.
